Hatkeshwarnath Volleyball Association Organized a One-Day Volleyball Competition on Independence Day
Raipur, August 16, 2026. On the auspicious occasion of Independence Day, the Hatkeshwarnath Volleyball Association, Raipura, enthusiastically organized a one-day local volleyball competition on August 15, 2026. Local teams from Raipur participated in the competition, demonstrating excellent athletic talent and sportsmanship.
Two teams from Saddu, Pahanda, Amaleshwar, NIT Raipur, Morning Club, and the Hatkeshwarnath Volleyball Association participated in the competition.
The final match of the competition was played between the host Hatkeshwarnath Volleyball Club and the team from Saddu. In a thrilling match, the host team, Hatkeshwarnath Volleyball Club, defeated Saddu 3-1 to win the title.
At the conclusion of the competition, the officials of the association honored the winning Hatkeshwarnath Volleyball Club with a shield and a cash prize of ₹3,000, the runner-up Saddu team with a shield and a cash prize of ₹2,000, and the third-place Pahanda team with a shield and a cash prize of ₹1,000.
The guests present on this occasion congratulated the winning and runner-up teams and said that sports involve winning and losing, but sportsmanship, discipline, and mutual brotherhood are the true hallmarks of the game. All the participating teams displayed excellent sportsmanship and performed brilliantly.
The guests wished all the players a bright future and said that organizing such competitions at the local level provides players with an opportunity to hone their talents and advance.
The officials, members, and associates of the Hatkeshwarnath Volleyball Association played a significant role in the successful organization of the competition. This competition, organised on the occasion of Independence Day, further strengthened the spirit of sports enthusiasm, discipline and mutual harmony in the region.

Raipur — The 5th All India Volleyball Tournament 2026, held at Hatkeshwarnath Volleyball Ground at Mahadev Ghat, was grandly inaugurated today by Honorable Shri Rajesh Munat, MLA and former Minister, Government of Chhattisgarh. Along with formally opening the tournament, he also inaugurated the newly constructed building.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Shri Rajesh Munat said that volleyball has become extremely popular and well-known at national and international levels. Many players from the country and the state have earned recognition and fame through their talent. He stated that sports are not only a means of competition but also a strong foundation for discipline, health, energy, and social harmony.
On this occasion, keeping players’ facilities in mind, he announced a grant of INR 2,000,000 (₹20 lakh) for the construction of a gym on the first floor, along with additional building works at the Hatkeshwarnath volleyball ground for players’ welfare and training. His announcement was met with visible enthusiasm from the players, sports lovers, and the organizing committee.
On the opening day of the tournament, the first women’s match was played between the teams of Chhattisgarh and Agra. In an exciting contest, the Chhattisgarh team delivered an excellent performance and won 2–0 to make a victorious start. During the match, the players displayed outstanding coordination, strong serves, solid defense, and aggressive play, which the spectators highly appreciated.
The tournament features Masters 40+ categories as well as an Open Girls competition, with teams participating from across the country and abroad. A large number of sports fans and spectators attended the venue on the very first day, creating a festive sporting atmosphere throughout the area.
